Knoxville Police Department Officer John Perkey's tragic death was a sad reminder that not all officers that die in the line of duty are killed by gunfire. Officer Perkey was returning to the city on a department- related trip and was killed in a traffic accident.

I am the daughter of Gary and a 1981 graduate of Rule myself (Kim Cooper). If you knew my father in high school and did not keep up with him over the years then you wouldn't know how much the Lord changed his life. He became a wonderful father of 3 children and had 7 grandchildren and became a successful businessman. God changed his life greatly. Of course he was married to Dorothy Hutchison (1963 graduate) and they were married for 43yrs. I am proud to say I am his daughter.

She was a dear sweet girl. Her interest in High School was cosmetology (Mrs. Kerns). She later worked for Ross the Boss until she passed away. She married Jimmy Cooper (brother to Kim Cooper class of 1981 and daughter n law of Gary Cooper and Dorothy Hutchison class of 1963). The Lord took her at an early age. But she is deeply missed.
